Welcome to Fantoni Driving School!
My name is Dan Fantoni, Principle driving instructor at Fantoni Driving School. I’ve always enjoyed driving, starting with sixth form road trips, to now enjoying trips around the Yorkshire countryside with my young family. I count myself fortunate enough to be able to say that I really enjoy my work. It is this enjoyment and in helping others reaching their goals, that led me to becoming an Approved Driving Instructor and setting up Fantoni Driving School in 2008.
I am a grade A, fully CRB checked driving instructor. This officially recognises my driving lessons to be of the highest available standard. This spot check is carried out by the Driving Standards Agency. The majority of other driving instructors don’t achieve this standard. I was also trained by Phil Hirst, arguably the finest driving instructor trainer in the country. I am lucky enough to have him on my doorstep in Harrogate. I also train other driving Instructors in the Leeds area for Smartdriving Uk. This gives me an advantage for teaching learner drivers, as I am continually up to date with the latest teaching methods and regulations.
Keen to continue my own development and be a step ahead, I have gained a number of non-essential but highly beneficial qualifications which many other instructors have not. I have recently completed BTEC Level 4 in Coaching for Driver Education through the Tri-Coaching Partnership leading to a Diploma in Driving Instruction from the DIA. These are some of the most advanced driver coaching qualifications available and the majority of other driving instructors don’t carry these qualifications.
Life as a driving instructor is very busy and I enjoy meeting a wide variety of learners from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience. It is very satisfying seeing learners achieve the freedom of driving with my help.
With the support of my previous customers, I have built a reputation in the area for being a patient, calm and relatable driving instructor who builds a good rapport and confidence in learner drivers. I offer a wide range of training methods varying from in-car, real-time exercises to iPad-based theory test practice.
Remembering how nervous I was when I first started learning to drive, I am understanding of less confident learners and I help them to overcome those barriers with plenty of positive feedback and confidence-building exercises. Above all, my ethos to learning is the use of questioning techniques to help new drivers arrive at their own conclusions, which helps them to retain the knowledge and learn much faster, with the confidence to handle the car and driving conditions safely and with ease.
