There have been significant changes to the UK driving test after lockdown.

Here’s a quick summary of the key points:

-You must wear a face covering for the test. Your accompanying examiner will also wear one.

-You should make sure the inside of your car Is also clean before the test.

-The examiner will also give inside of the car an antiviral wipe before starting the test.

-Do not arrive more than five minutes before your appointment time.

-The driving test centre waiting room will be closed. The examiner will meet you outside of the test centre.

– You may request not to wear a face covering if:

   You have physical or mental illness or disability that means you cannot wear one or

-Wearing glasses does not count as a good reason not to wear a face covering.

-If you make a serious or dangerous mistake during the test, you will be directed by the examiner back to the test centre where the test will end. This is to minimise the amount of time to spent in the vehicle.

-When you mustn’t come to your test:

-If you or someone you live with has Coronavirus symptoms or;

You’ve been contacted by track and trace to tell you you’ve been in contact with someone who has Corona Virus.

-You can cancel your driving test at any point free of charge including short notice if you are self isolating due to Coronavirus.

-You must bring your theory certificate to your driving test, as well as your provisional driving  licence.

These are the main changes to the test for candidates and of course Fantoni Driving School will make all students aware of any further changes to the test.
